Cornelius Klaassen (1825-1892), first married to Elizabeth Janzen
(1825-1863), and then married to Sara Wiens (1839-1905) emigrated from the
Molotschna Mennonite Settlement of South Russia to the USA in 1875 and settled
at Mountain Lake, Minnesota. He had 8 children that survived to adulthood.
They were: Cornelius Klaassen (1857-), Jacob C. Klaasen (1858-), John C.
Klaassen (1864-), Peter C. Klaassen (1868-), Katharine Klaassen (1871-),
Elizabeth Klaassen (1876-), Sara Klaassen (1878-), Anna Klaassen
(1881-).
Scope and content note
The collection consists of four 3 ringed binders with pages in
plastic sleeves containing vital statistics, narratives, reproduced documents
and some original photographs documenting the lives of Cornelius Klaassen and
his descendants.

This genealogy was started by Mary Klaassen and handed over to her
niece Lloyd Jay Klaassen in 1983. he completed this version and gave it to the
Mennonite Heritage Centre in 2003.
